American Express Global Business Travel (GBT) has announced a new leadership structure.

David Reimer has been promoted to senior vice president and general manager for North America, overseeing the US and Canada, while Elyes Mrad will become senior vice president and general manager international, overseeing the EMEA and APAC regions as well as American Express GBT's Travel Partner Network (TPN).
Philippe Chérèque, president of American Express Global Business Travel, said: "Last September, we started on a journey to optimise and simplify our commercial organisation in an effort to create greater intimacy and operational efficiency for the benefit of our customers.

"I feel confident that this new structure, with David and Elyes in their expanded roles, will enable more nimble decision-making, increased alignment to our strategic goals and accelerate our time to market."

Reimer has almost 19 years with American Express and American Express GBT, his most recent role being MD of American Express GBT, APAC.

Mrad has led the EMEA region through a period of growth and now adds APAC to his remit, with a focus on strengthening commercial activities across both regions.

Gerardo Tejado, vice president and general manager of Latin America, will continue to oversee that region and report to Chérèque.
