Jockey Club Catering has completed its second clean drinking water project in India.

The joint venture between The Jockey Club and Compass Group UK & Ireland partnered with ethical bottled water company Life Water and charity drop4drop to help provide a community well in Pagidala in the Andhra Pradesh region.

The Pagidala Community Well will provide clean water to a community of more than 1,000 people in a region that regularly suffers from water scarcity.

Nick Campbell, MD of Jockey Club Catering, said: “We are thrilled to have completed our second project with Life Water and drop4drop. Relieving communities of time and work spent in the collection of water will allow children to spend more of their time in education therefore contributing to the rising levels of literacy.”

By supplying Life Water at Jockey Club Racecourses, the team is helping to fund clean drinking water projects around the world. Last year saw the completion of Jockey Club Catering’s first clean drinking water project in the Magungu 3 community in Uganda.

Life Water provides locally sourced, eco bottled water that funds the creation of clean drinking water projects in developing countries. Every bottle of Life Water sold funds the delivery of at least 1,000 litres of clean drinking water to a community in need. Life Water’s partner charity, drop4drop, works to identify communities in need of clean water before managing and developing each project.

Jockey Club Catering is a joint venture between The Jockey Club and Compass Group UK & Ireland. The partnership was launched in 2009 with the aim of providing premium quality catering at all 15 of The Jockey Club racecourses. In 2013, the exclusive business relationship was extended until 2025.
