Guests get first glimpse into micebook 2.0

It was a night of previews as Chetan Shah gave the first look into his micebook 2.0 version at the not-yet open Curtain Hotel and Members Club.

The new version of the digital platform was displayed on giant iTabs throughout the venue, allowing the 200 attendees to explore the website and discover its search functions and tools.

The invite-only event also gave attendees a glimpse at Shoreditch's newest venue, which opens to the public later this week. A dedicated Event Dashboard app was created for guests to download information ahead of the event, as well as receive information and interact online during the night. It was used by 80 per cent of guests.

Shah also invited eight students from the nearby London College of Fashion to take part in the launch, who each designed an outfit inspired by a different supplier or destination on micebook, such as The Netherlands, Leading Hotels of the World and France. Alex Hammerstrong, who partnered with Business Events Canada to produce a Canadian-inspired clothes set, was voted overall winner and won a weekend in New York including a stay at the Knickerbocker hotel.

Shah told attendees: "Thank you for being the community that will help us build a great digital solution for this industry. Because that's what we are, a community."

Micebook is a database of event suppliers and destinations and invites users to search the collection and gain inspiration for events by prioritising results in terms of destination, group size or budget. Users also create a profile and are able to store information and notes for their own personal record.
