HRG chief operating officer Kevin Ruffles steps down

Hogg Robinson Group chief operating officer Kevin Ruffles has stepped down with immediate effect.

Ruffles, who has also relinquished his position as a director of the company, will be undertaking a variety of special project roles until his official retirement on 31 May 2018, according to HRG.

Ruffles first joined Hogg Robinson in 1972. He was appointed to the board in 1997, followed by the positions of regional president for Asia Pacific, Europe and North America.

He was appointed as the group’s chief operating officer in October 2010. His achievements during his time at HRG include the UK launch of e-tickets with British Airways in 1991 and the integration of the corporate travel interests of Kuoni Holdings in 2004. He was also a core member of the executive team behind the management buy-out in 2000 and the subsequent relisting on the London Stock Exchange in 2006.
