Fairmont St Andrews to host open evenings for apprentices

North East Fife MP welcomes hotel's efforts to enhance employment opportunities for young people in the area

Fairmont St Andrews is hosting two open evenings for future hospitality apprentices as part of its three-year hospitality apprenticeship programme.

The open days on Tuesday 12 and Wednesday 20 September, in partnership with training providers, will be available to all school leavers in the Fife area.

Taking place at the five-star resort, both open days will showcase the hotel’s hospitality scheme to inspire the next generation of hospitality and tourism leaders. Pupils will take part in interactive sessions from directors, including from general manager John Keating, Anneliese Archibald of and engage with candidates who have completed the modern apprenticeship programme and gained a qualification.

North East Fife MP Stephen Gethins has welcomed Fairmont St Andrews’ efforts to enhance employment opportunities for young people in the area. He said: “I’m pleased that Fairmont St Andrews has taken this step and hope that local young people will realise the chance to receive training and on the job experience which will give them a range of skills vital to the modern workplace. It is also good to know that Fairmont has taken a decision to invest in the local area and, by working with schools, will be providing employment which also benefits the local economy.”

The evening will offer visitors and pupils the opportunity to demonstrate their skills and an insight into the knowledge they can learn on the job, while achieving an industry-recognised qualification.”
