The forthcoming The Business of Events conference will now include a reception for senior leaders from across the UK business events industry, government officials and senior MPs, it has been announced.

Among the attendees at the reception, which will be held at One Great George Street in London on Thursday 2 November, will be John Glen, parliamentary undersecretary of state for the Department for Culture, Media and Sport. The reception will also be followed by a private dinner, attended by the minister of state and some of the UK’s leading destinations, venues and organisers.

The Business of Events conference, which is taking place at the QEII Centre on Friday 3 November, is being supported by both VisitBritain and the Business Visits & Events Partnership.

The aim of the conference is to enable senior leaders from across the industry to hear from government representatives about future plans to support the sector and learn more about VisitBritain’s strategy to attract more international business events.

Official conference partners of the event include VisitScotland, London & Partners, ibtm events, Cvent and Visit Aberdeenshire.
