Trade association sees surge in membership

Large hotel groups, small hotel groups, a Royal Society and a racecourse among venues joining HBAA recently

The HBAA has seen a recent surge in membership, with a lengthy list of new and lapsed members joining up.

Among the latest additions to the trade association, formerly the Hotel Booking Agents Association, are hotel management companies Kew Green Hotels and Lapithus Hotel Management, which both have a wide range of properties in their portfolios, while Unique Coventry Venues is made up of four properties in the Midlands. Non-residential venue Mary Ward House and sporting venue Towcester Racecourse have also joined.

Lapsed members rejoining include Apex Hotels, which offers 10 properties across the UK, and the Royal Society of Medicine has also resumed membership after one year.

Louise Goalen, chair of the HBAA, said: “The recent surge in membership signings reflects the positive impact of our marketing reach and the ongoing success of our events programme, and endorses HBAA’s strategy for being an essential part of the industry’s business toolkit. It’ll be great to see everyone in January for our Kick Off and Annual Dinner, where we will be celebrating our 21st birthday.”
