Fast Forward 15 is inviting mentor applications for 2018 following the success of its first three years.

The 12 month mentoring programme for women, created by Fay Sharpe, VP BCD Meetings and Events EMEA, works alongside a hand-picked portfolio of key players willing to share their insight and experience. It offers mentees the opportunity to develop and define visibility, exposure and confidence – and encourages and supports women in the events and hospitality industries.

Fay Sharpe said: “Now in our fourth year, the Fast Forward 15 programme has seen huge successes among both its mentees and mentors. Becoming a mentor not only has a huge impact on our mentees, but also enhances and develops the coaching skills of the volunteer mentors through the extensive support and formal programme we have put in place.

“It is always great to see senior industry figures come forward and dedicate their time to invest in the future of the industry and it is clear that the influence on both mentors and mentees has been extremely positive. From increased confidence and self-belief to tangible personal growth across the board, the mentees development has already been remarkable and is a testament to our prestigious group of mentors.

“Through Fast Forward 15, it is our ambition to challenge the issues surrounding gender inequality within the industry and I am immensely proud of the fantastic work our mentors and mentees are undertaking.

“I can’t wait to get started again in the new year, with new participants and would encourage anyone at the top of their game to get involved.”

There were more than 150 mentee applications in 2017 from women across the sector. Mentors span all levels and currently include Tony McMurray from Ingram Micro and Hannah Walley from Squaremeal.

BCD Meetings & Events is inviting mentor applications – 150 words on why they would like to be a mentor, detailing information regarding their skills and experience – which must be submitted to – by Thursday 17 January. Mentee applications are now open and will close on Thursday 28 February before the next programme launches in May.
