Confex teams up with Event Tech Lab for tech content

International Confex has announced two full days of event technology education

International Confex has teamed up with Event Tech Lab to curate two full days of event technology education in a dedicated theatre for the sector.


Event Tech Lab founder James Morgan and Chris Elmitt, founder of Crystal Interactive, will be moderating the tech session.


Day one sees sessions on how evaluate technology types and their uses, sessions on wearable technology, gamification and the rise of hybrid events - where live and virtual audiences coalesce. Also included is the programme will be a #fuelledbyILEA session on ‘Are we Ready for Event Tech 3.0’.


Day two will see sessions on the hot topics of artificial intelligence and facial recognition, discussions on how to manage attendee data, and innovations in AR and VR. There will also be a lunch, learn and laugh session hosted by comedian and event professional Sanj Surati who will be testing attendees' technology knowledge.

Also featuring on both days of the show are The Hot Trends and Fresh Tech sessions. The Hot Trends sessions provides quickfire opinions by experts on trends in conferences, exhibitions, awards ceremonies and special events, while the Fresh Tech sessions see 12 start-up tech companies exhibiting on the Event Tech Lab pavilion pitching their technology in two minutes.

International Confex takes place 28 February – 1 March at Olympia London. The show recently released visitor growth figures of more than 35 per cent for its 2017 show and is expecting another boost for its 2018 outing.
