Ashfield Meetings & Events will be presenting the findings of its latest white paper The Science Of Healthcare Professional Meetings at this year’s International Pharmaceutical Congress Advisory Association (IPCAA) annual seminar on compliance in Berlin on 20-21 March.

As a follow on from the 2016 study The Future of Meetings, Andrew Moore, Ashfield’s head of technology & compliance and client relationship director Lee-Anne Penn will compare and contrast the perceptions of healthcare professionals (HCPs) across a range of specialities.

Moore said: “We’ve looked at the individual component factors of why HCPs attend events to better understand their motivations and desires. This has helped us really define a strategy for successful meetings in the future.

“It was encouraging to discover that HCPs are saying their ‘preferred channel’ for receiving scientific content is through attendance at a scientific congress or meeting, but it was also important to explore any barriers they felt might be impacting their ability to attend – including regulatory barriers.”

Moore and Penn will also highlight the white paper’s conclusions around the impact of transfer of value disclosure, the importance of a return on the time and money invested in attending, and the value and effect real-life experiences from patients have in HCPs’ learning.

Penn added: “Collating the data for the Science Of Meetings has been invaluable. Its findings will not only help healthcare companies deliver insight-led, personalised HCP experiences that guarantee both engagement and impact, but it will also reassure HCPs that they are being listened to as events evolve to meet their needs.”
