Trump Turnberry picked up six trophies at the Scottish Hotel Awards 2018, including the Scottish hotel of the year gong.

The Ayrshire golf resort, bought by the US president four years ago, took home prizes in Scottish Hotel of Year; Luxury Hotel of the Year; Golf Hotel of the Year and Event Hotel of the Year. GM Ralph Porciani was named Hotel Manager of the Year and banqueting manager Alba Torres won the Rising Star award.

Porciani said: “We are so honoured and proud to win all of these awards. These recognitions are a result of our combined team work and a reflection of how committed we are in delivering an exceptional experience to all our guests.”

The resort enjoyed a £200 million renovation in 2016 and features 103 guest rooms, including four suites, the Grand Tea Lounge & Bar, two restaurants, as well as the Turnberry Lighthouse and a 500-person grand ballroom.
Donald Trump is tipped to stay at the resort when he visits the UK in July. The last time he stayed at the Trump Turnberry was back in 2016 when he stayed in the £7,500 a night private lighthouse.
