The inaugural European Congress of the Geneva-based United Networks of International Corporate Event Organizers (UNICEO) has taken place at the Kempinksi Hotel in Corvinus in Budapest. Entitled Leading Events to the Future, the event brought together more than 150 UNICEO members and keynote speakers, with the UK, Russia, the UAE and China among those countries represented.

The programme was divided into four themed sections labelled Measurement, Engagement, Technology & Innovation and Leadership; the format comprised panel discussions and ‘collective intelligence’ activities whereby participants were able to share ideas and pool resources while working on issues related to their roles as event organisers.

Keynote speakers at the congress included event professionals from household name companies such as Bayer, Microsoft and UBS, while the proceedings were overseen by master of ceremonies Laura Schwartz, who was the director of events at the White House under the Clinton administration.
