The finalists have been announced for the 2018 Association Excellence Awards. The winners of the 16 categories  will be revealed at the awards ceremony on Friday 12th October at the Kia Oval in London.

The Meetings Industry Association (MIA) has been shortlisted as a finalist in the awards, with the association’s highly successful Agents’ Day series of events having been nominated for the Best Membership Initiative by an Association category.

Other finalists in the category include The Association of British HealthTech Industries, the International Federation for Equestrian Sports, the Institution of Lighting Professionals, the Major Projects Association, the Research Quality Association, the Royal Pharmaceutical Society  and the Association of Accounting Technicians.

MIA chief executive Jane Longhurst said: “We are thrilled that the MIA Agents’ Day has been shortlisted for the Association Excellence Awards. As an association, we strive to provide our members with the opportunities to grow and develop their business. Our Agents’ Days have always been highly successful at providing our members with unrivalled access to agents in a fun and informative environment, combining informative workshop sessions with relaxed networking activities."

Now in its fourth year, the Association Excellence Awards recognise and reward the hard-won achievements of UK trade bodies, professional membership organisations and associations. These awards recognise individuals, teams and initiatives and highlight excellence in how trade bodies operate and serve their members.

The Membership Initiative category recognises the project which has clearly identified the needs of their members, used creativity to ensure effectiveness of the initiative, improved interaction with members and advanced the aims of the association.
