Penn centre celebrates simultaneous events

11/03/2011

Despite the fact the Pennsylvania Convention Center has just expanded by 62 per cent, it is still only the 14th largest in the US. Celebrating the opening by hosting the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA) simultaneously with the Philadelphia International Flower Show, it was the first time this has been possible.

Said Arlene Kidwell, senior director of meetings, NASPA: “After numerous hard hat tours and brushing the dust off my clothes, the space is absolutely amazing. It's been like watching my personal home being built from the ground up. Now we are in here with brand new everything. Our attendees are going to just love this venue!”

This year there will be 3,000 delegates to NASPA, using more than 8,900 total hotel rooms and contributing more than $10m (£6.2m) in economic impact to the region’s economy.
