Global industry association Meetings
Professional International (MPI) has appointed Cynthia D’Aoust as its new chief
operating officer.
D’Aoust – known as Cindy – will join in April to lead the
Dallas-based organisation’s strategic business plan (MPI 3.0), reporting to CEO
Bruce MacMillan. She joins MPI from Philadelphia-based
Maxvantage, an alliance between Maritz Travel Company and American Express,
where she was VP of shared services.
An expert on solutions and trends in the
meetings industry, she regularly speaks at industry conferences, serves on
panels and conducts education sessions focused on meetings management. D'Aoust is also an active member of the Global Business
Travel Association and and MPI, most recently serving on its International
Board of Directors.
MacMillan said: “Cindy’s record of creating
value for customers and stakeholders is unparalleled. Her familiarity wit
business and professional development trends will allow MPI to accelerate
effective implementation of our education and certification program.”
D’Aoust added: “My clients, peers,
colleagues and friends have provided me a wealth of opportunity, experiences
and fond memories over my career. This move was an easy choice to make knowing
that they are all behind me and rooting for me and MPI.”
