A new website – www.meetingroom-review.com – aims to be the first free service providing personal opinion and authoritative reviews on each and every venue and event space in London. Headed up by Emily Fowler, Meeting Room Review goes live later this month - aims to post reviews on 300 venue spaces in London by Christmas.
Fowler, who has organised events and run venues herself, said she has been frustrated by the lack of unbiased, useful information for venue organisers, managers and owners. She wants users – the goal is to have a 1,000 by next spring – to comment on the best and worst aspects of London venues. She said: “The site will contain fresher, more up-to-date information than anything in the marketplace. The information will be colourful and detailed and because we are gathering content from people who have used the venues, it will be more reliable.”
She adds that her team will look at all reviews that come in every day to make sure they meet posting guidelines: Was the venue value for money? Was the staff polite and helpful? Is there anything that could be improved?
“If we get a bad review, we will call the venue manager and discuss what the end user has said and how their service might be improved. I’ve seen too many poor venues that remain poor because there’s no structured feedback in place. Meeting Room Review will change this. Both venue managers and event organizers that I’ve spoken to are very enthusiastic about the launch because they know that the site and users feedback will help them make decisions that will bring in more revenue and clients.”
