Andaz London Liverpool Street has reported a 15 per cent increase in event bookings since its launch of a virtual site inspection video tour.

The central hotel says along with the rise in confirmed business, it has seen a huge 271 per cent increase in total web traffic, with more than 20,000 views of the video since its launch by Eventopedia.

Since launching the online video tour in September 2016, two of bookings have come from overseas.

Andaz London Liverpool Street director of sales and marketing, Ben Couldridge, said: "The team have seen tangible benefit from the addition of the Virtual Site Inspection (VSI) to our sales kit, with powerful results in respect to brand visibility and a 15 per cent increase in annual bookings. Benefits extend to our clients, with two overseas event planners viewing the VSI and booking our venue without needing to travel and site inspect."

Eventopedia founder Alan Newton said the video tours use ground-breaking technology allowing users to navigate their way through a venue.

BAFTA wining creative director Pete Davies, a former BBC TV executive producer, said: "Navigable video is a set of technologies that are vital for business to engage. We all know that film, TV and video have a 120-year heritage as perhaps the most compulsive and successful of any medium since print. There‚Äôs absolutely no doubt that audiences are universally entertained and learn from it, indeed they love it."
