Conference Care has increased both its turnover and pre-tax profit in a year of expansion at the Leicestershire-based agency.

Turnover rose year-on-year from £2.8 million in 2016 to £2.9m in the year ending 31 March 2017, according to accounts filed at Companies House.

And pre-tax profit at the venue finding and event management agency rose hit £876k last year, up from £867k in 2016.

Director Chris Peacock said: "We’re very pleased with the financial results for 2016/17 - which has been generally acknowledged as a challenging trading year for the industry.

"Conference Care won several significant client accounts last year which has allowed us to grow in a nervous market.

"Additionally we’ve made substantial investment in developing our new headquarters, allowing us room to at least double in size in the future. Conference Care is a great place to work and now we have the space and structure to grow as we need to.

"We are continuing to drive forward this year by giving our customers the professional services they need, launching our unique online events portal and further development of our client base."

In January, Conference Care moved to new, larger premises at Watling House, Leicestershire, following a string of account wins and investment in new technology.
