The Association of British Professional Conference Organisers (ABPCO) has revealed the shortlist for the 2016 Excellence Awards.

The Excellence Awards, which will once again coincide with the Chairmen’s Lunch, will take place at Manchester Central on Friday 9 December.

The nominees are:

- Best Conference by an In-House Conference Organiser – Royal Society of Medicine (BeyondBORDERS); Diabetes UK (Diabetes UK Professional Conference)
- Best Conference by an Agency Conference Organiser – Meeting Makers (IAPD 2015); Happening (International Symposium on Pediatric Neurosurgery 2016); MCI UK (World Hepatitis Summit 2015); Conference Partners (EuroScience Open Forum 2016)
- Best Industry Partnership – SECC (RCN Congress), Cvent (AEO Conference) and Shocklogic (AAGBI 2016)

As in previous years, the first three awards will be judged by the audience following each nominees’ presentation of their submission.

The final award, the Chairmen’s Special Award, will be agreed by the judges prior to the event and the winners will be presented with their award on the day.

The Excellence Awards agenda takes place in Manchester on 8-9 December. There will be a networking dinner for ABPCO members at Manchester Central Library on Thursday 8 December, while the association has also arranged for Jonathan Schofield, editor of the Manchester Confidential website, to give members a tour of the city on the morning of Friday 9 December.

Heather Lishman, ABPCO director, said: “We have an action packed agenda for this year’s Excellence Awards.  We are delighted to be organising our event in Manchester, and we hope that you will be able to join us.”
