The Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre (AECC) glowed poppy red to raise awareness of the Poppy Scotland Appeal.

The centre's Northern Lights Tower was illuminated from Friday 11 November until Sunday 13 November to support the initiative, in support of the armed forces community in Scotland.

The appeal raises over £2 million each year, which provides support to the armed forces community and their families.

Graeme Cumming, AECC interim managing director, said: "AECC is a great supporter of Poppy Scotland and the life-changing support that they offer to the UK’s Armed Forces community. This will be the third year that will see the venue's Northern Lights Tower glow poppy red which we hope will encourage passers-by to show their support for this year’s powerful #Extramile campaign and that the reasoning and history behind such an iconic cause will be remembered."
