The ATPI Group, which has a London headquarters, has acquired New Zealand travel management company Business World Travel.

Auckland-based Business World Travel increases travel and event management business ATPI’s portfolio to 34 wholly-owned offices in 18 countries worldwide.

The acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, marks the latest stage of ATPI’s expansion in the Asia Pacific region, which includes the purchase of Australia-based Voyager and DTC Travel in Malaysia in addition to expanded premises in Singapore and the launch of ATPI Sports Events in Australia.

Business World Travel founder Grant Bevin will continue to lead the New Zealand operation.

ATPI Group CEO Graham Ramsey said: “The purchase of Business Travel World is a significant milestone for our global business. As part of our growth strategy over the last two years we have focused on extensive investment and acquisitions. Through this most recent deal, we have a new, exciting venture that reinforces the high standards of client service that are a cornerstone of our business.”

The group, which has operations in Aberdeen, London, Lowestoft and Manchester, restructured its business in 2015 following the acquisition of energy sector-focused travel management company Griffin Travel. Its London-based operation, Advanced Travel Partners UK, posted pre-tax profit of £10.4 million in the financial year ended 31 December 2014.
