Travel and event management company ATPI Group has purchased Melbourne-based Plan B Travel.

The company, which bases its headquarters in London, has made a push into the Australasian market, and the most recent acquisition follows closely behind a deal for New Zealand-based Business World Travel.

Graham Ramsey, ATPI Group CEO, said: “We are delighted to welcome Plan B Travel into the ATPI Group and are pleased to further expand our offering and presence in Australasia. Developing our group operation is a key part of our growth plans. Plan B and its clients fit well with the ATPI profile and will benefit from the group’s global expertise, industry leading technology, and comprehensive people development. We look forward to working with the team and their clients.”

Plan B executive chairman Clive Sher added: “ATPI is well-known for its sector specialisms  and their expertise will empower new opportunities for us.”

The group, which has operations in Aberdeen, London, Lowestoft and Manchester restructured its business in 2015 following the acquisition of energy sector-focused travel management company Griffin Travel. Its London-based operation, Advanced Travel Partners UK, posted pre-tax profit of £6.1 million for the financial year ended 31 December 2015.
