Event Exchange has been chosen by data analytic company Alteryx to bring its Inspire conference to Europe for the first time later this year.

The agency won the tender after a six-month bidding process, and has been tasked with running the two-day conference, organising accommodation for the 500 delegates from across Europe and the Middle East, and building a dedicated website.

The agency has also expanded its staff numbers to nine after appointing a new events and marketing executive.

Co-founder Chris Smart said: "The Inspire conference is held in the US each year and this will be the first time it will take place in the UK. We are really excited we've won this; it's a great event and an amazing opportunity for us."

The two-day conference will see Alteryx users and partners gather at King's Place, London, in September. Inspire Europe will also feature an Alteryx Grand Prix, where the best Alteryx users will compete head-to-head.

Smart said the business win was one of several tenders to have been awarded to the agency. He said he hoped it was a sign of the economy continuing its recovery.

"We have seven big events now happening in the space of seven weeks. Compared to last year, where we did about three events over that period, it's a big increase," Smart added.

"I think it's largely clients who have suddenly either got budget or have decided to run events. We haven't done a targeted sales strategy to attract it. We plan to, but we need to manage what
we have first."
