Industry leaders have chosen Leeds as the destination for this year’s annual Great Ambassador Networking Group (GANG) event.

Following a successful bid by ConferenceLeeds, the event will bring together delegates from across the UK and Ireland to discuss industry issues and share best practice.

Jennifer Young, associate director of visitor economy for Visit Leeds and ConferenceLeeds, said: “The fact that members of the GANG committee selected Leeds as the next destination for the annual conference is a huge testament to the city and we are excited to welcome delegates from across the UK to Leeds. Working collaboratively with Leeds venues, the ConferenceLeeds team has worked hard to create a bespoke programme for attendees and I’m sure it will be a fantastic event.”

The event takes place on Wednesday 10 February at the Rose Bowl, Leeds Beckett University.

Speakers include Steve Lewis from CAT Publications, who will be hosting a talk on Intellectual Capitals and why cities’ knowledge hubs are as important as the meetings infrastructure.

Sam Johnston from Dublin Convention Bureau will be talking about conference ambassadors, focusing on reward schemes, recognition and incentives, while ambassador programme updates will be given from Marketing Manchester, Marketing Sheffield and Well Met Conferencing, followed by a Q&A panel session.

The full afternoon is dedicated to workshops led by Steve Lewis and Lauren Pascu of Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, with a Q&A session to conclude the afternoon giving delegates the opportunity to gain knowledge and insight from the whole group.
