App data assists QHotels with event menu redesign

Conference and events hotel group QHotels is redeveloping menu options at events after analysing data from a new food ordering app.

After analysing data from the TellTheChef app, which was used by more than 14,000 diners over the Christmas period, QHotels is set to respond to trends in diner preferences in its menu development for events held at each of its 26 venues.

TellTheChef allows diners attending events to pre-order food and leave individual feedback, providing the hotel group with detailed data on each event. The insight allows the events teams to create a bespoke menu for each event, ensuring all the most popular choices are offered. 

Niky Whittaker, special events co-ordinator at Leeds hotel The Queens, added: “The app means every single guest that we cater for at an event has the opportunity to leave detailed feedback, and we pride ourselves on continually improving the experience for our guests. The app has really made it easier for us to manage and exceed expectations at our events.

“Perfect for both large and small-scale events, TellTheChef produces data from each event, allowing us for see the bigger picture. By predicting trends we can tailor our catering options for each event and each hotel both within our hotel and across our group. It also means less waste, as we can alter our orders based on trends and predictions. This is another great way our guests help us continually improve our service and overall development.”
