Association education seminars kick off at ExCeL

First in series of networking and knowledge-sharing seminars focused on content marketing for UK associations

A networking and idea-sharing series of seminars aimed at the UK’s association market has kicked-off at ExCeL.

Held in the London venue’s CentrEd training and meeting facility, the inaugural ExChange seminar featured tips on content marketing and ‘building an event community’ in addition to case studies from the World Obesity Federation and Diabetes UK.

The series, of which a second is earmarked for later in the year, is the result of a desire for improved knowledge-sharing among association planners.

Jamie Ades, ExCeL’s associations senior account manager, said: “What was missing was something specifically for association executives, to allow them to discuss the challenges they face.”

Among the 12 associations represented were the Association of Political Study and Airmic – the UK association for risk and insurance management professionals.

British Society of Echocardiography office and events manager Jill Daniell said: “It was an inspiring session and got me excited about what I can improve on in my events.”

James Harris, congress, marketing and sales coordinator at the British Small Animal Veterinary Association, added: “It’s important to be able to speak to people in your situation, who are running similar events. I learned some useful things and it helped validate that what I am doing is the right thing.”
