The Associations Network of global association executives has changed its name to better represent its services as a professional society.

Now known as the Society of Association Executives, the organiser of the Associations World Congress has announced a host of new developments in addition to the name change. These include a new website, www.associationexecutives.org, free of charge membership, and two new events to be held in London; the UK Association Events Strategy Conference on 23-24 May and Engage 2016 – The Member Engagement Conference, on 10 June.

Executive director Damien Hutt announced the changes at the opening of the Associations World Congress in Berlin this week.

“I started this network of association executives 10 years ago and we have developed every year, adding to the variety of products, events and programmes. With our new Head of Membership developing a valuable member experience, we are now offering a service at the level of a professional society.

“Our community of over 20,000 members is global with association executives concentrated in mainland Europe, the UK, the Middle East, Africa and India. Our event last month in Dubai, our recent Association Leadership events in Brussels, Geneva and London and our forthcoming Africa Associations Congress will be complemented by events in more locations to service our members’ demand for expertly developed programme content.”

Liberal use of the word 'members'. Database is more accurate a term.
