The Business Visits and Events Partnership (BVEP) has announced the reappointment of Chris Skeith and Simon Hughes as vice-chairs for a further two-year term.

Chris Skeith will continue as BVEP treasurer and Simon Hughes will continue to lead on BVEP’s co-ordination of issues arising from Britain’s eventual exit from the EU.

Welcoming the reappointments, BVEP chair Michael Hirst said: “I’m delighted to welcome Chris and Simon back for another two years. Both have played a major role in helping the BVEP to develop policies that promote the best interests of the events industry.

Chris Skeith, CEO at the Association of Event Organisers, said: “I’m delighted to continue in my role as BVEP vice-chair in these exciting and challenging times for the industry. The partnership has made great progress in putting business events on the national agenda and I’m looking forward to making the most of the opportunities that lie ahead. We’ve come a long way but, as ever, there’s still a lot to do”.

Simon Hughes, founder of MCH Associates, said: “Brexit means that it is now even more important than ever to make sure the industry’s voice is heard. BVEP has a pivotal role to play in continuing to focus on the issues and opportunities that the people who work in our sector can bring to promoting UK plc. I’m very pleased to be part of this small but dynamic and influential team.”

Skeith and Hughes join Samme Allen and Caroline Jackson, who continue in their roles as vice chairs of BVEP.
