Belfast’s Waterfront unveils £30 million extension

Northern Ireland Chamber Champions Dinner is first business event to be held in new-look venue

The new-look Belfast Waterfront conference centre has staged its first business event since completing a £30 million extension. 

Opened by the Lord Mayor of Belfast, Councillor Arder Carson, the new 7,000 sqm facility which was funded by Belfast City Council, Tourism Northern Ireland and the European Regional Development Fund, hosted the 800-guest NI Chamber Champions Dinner this week. 

Susie McCullough, director of marketing & sales said: “It was an absolute privilege to welcome the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce to the new Belfast Waterfront. The local business community were the first to enjoy a brand new event experience at our wonderful venue. The chamber’s event clearly demonstrated our unique ability to host a spectacular and memorable banquet on such a grand scale. We’re now looking forward to welcoming many more prestigious events.”

Confirmed conferences for the expanded venue include the World Credit Union Conference and the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) Annual Congress. The International Surgical Congress of the Association of Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland (ASGBI) will be the first conference be held at the Waterfront since it reopened, when it commences on 11 May.
