The impact of Brexit on the global meetings industry will feature among three days of education sessions at ibtm world, taking place later this month in Barcelona.

The topical session forms part of the knowledge programme under a new theme called industry trends, and will be led by MP James Heappey, chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for Events, while a panel will also offer their views.

Other sessions to follow include association industry trends - including membership, engagement and activation - led by MCI president and COO Jurriean Sleijster, while anticipated research on how the industry will look in 2017 will be presented by ibtm world and EventMB.

Graeme Barnett, senior exhibition director, ibtm world, said: "The line-up for our knowledge programme is impressive this year, we have fantastic speakers and content which is highly topical, we introduced the new themes and this has given us a clear structure of content which is relevant to everyone attending ibtm world this year.

"The seven themes as part of the Knowledge Programme are particularly innovative and all topics are at the forefront of the event planners’ educational needs."

The knowledge programme takes place the ACS Knowledge Village, part of ibtm world which runs from 29 November to 1 December. More information at the ibtm website here.
