Brand communications agency Bugler Smith plans to increase its focus on business events and internal communications following the appointment of a creative business developer.

Paul Gosling, formerly of digital agency Pitney Bowes, has joined the Cheshire-based company and will initially focus on attracting business in the north west England region. Bugler Smith is realigning its growth focus, and aims to achieve a 25 per cent increase on £1 million billings it achieved last year, with the retail sector a particularly strong suit.

MD Lee Ashton said: “Paul’s appointment will provide a boost to our continued growth and exciting plans for the future.

“He offers a great insight to future market trends and will help to develop the business even further. Being a business owner and founder himself, with over ten years’ integrated agency experience, it is great to have him working with us.”

Gosling says the challenge will be to uncover the ‘core message’ clients are communicating with their staff.

“Our angle is understanding the internal message and really going to town on what that business wants to say to its employees, how it motivates them so it can move forward as one unit,” Gosling added.
