CBA Events plans to increase turnover by a quarter, following the acquisition of team building company The Active Events Company and appointment of Tim Green as event director.

The company, formerly known as Conference Business Agency, has targeted figures of £750k for 2016-17, but hopes to increase that to a £1 million turnover in the 2017-18 financial year.

It comes as the company looks to expand its service portfolio following Green's appointment and the merger, with immediate plans to include the opening of a 4x4 off-road driving course and clay pigeon shooting site at a private estate at Lake Windermere.

Staff numbers have grown to seven full-time members after CBA took on The Active Events Company, with the agency looking to fill another position as well as expand its freelance team.

CBA Events director Sara Young said it was an exciting period of growth for the agency, which is about to move to a larger office in Keswick.

"Purchasing The Active Events Company to increase our service portfolio and taking on Tim Green means that we can branch out into new areas of the events industry. We are looking forward to setting up our more spacious base in a central location in Keswick," she said.

"Venue finding was our focus initially and we’ve always offered the additional services, but more recently (other areas) really taken off – clients use us for as little or as much as they like, and when they realise how much we can offer, they start to use us more, recommend to colleagues or take us with them if they move on to new positions."

Green joins the agency following his role as director at Fluid Productions, a company he established 12 years ago.
