Central Hall Westminster has noted a 15 per cent upsurge in business from Chinese meeting bookers.

The venue in the heart of London says the year on year increase in confirmed business and enquiries is down to a focused marketing strategy targeting China.

Head of marketing Maria Schuett has led a number of campaigns, which have also seen the venue presented with the Chinese Tourist Welcome Award for Marketing. A mobile version of Central Hall’s Mandarin website was also launched in 2015.

Event wins include Chinese organisations such as Huawei, Jiangsu and Nanjing Province, while cultural events are also on its radar; Central Hall is to host its second Chinese New Year Concert with the globally celebrated ‘China National Orchestra – Tianjian’.

MD Paul Southern said: “We are pleased to have had so much interest from Chinese organisations as we continue to develop our relationships within this market. We hope to drive further business through our Mandarin website and will continue to develop relationships with a planned visit to Shanghai later this year.”
