Efforts to educate the public and private sector about the benefits of the meetings industry will be discussed by the Meetings Mean Business Coalition at AIBTM, the meetings trade show, in Florida next month.
The coalition, launched in the US in 2009 by top meetings and events executives, includes high-level officials from Hilton Worldwide, Visit Orlando, US Travel Association and meetings associations such as ASAE, PCMA, MPI, Site and the International Association of Events & Exhibitions.
The early-morning panel discussion will highlight industry trends and initiatives to educate the public and private sector on the economic and social benefits of meetings, conferences, incentive travel and trade shows.
The Meetings Mean Business Coalition was formed five years ago to raise awareness of the value of in-person meetings and trade shows that create personal connections, drive business, and create jobs.
“The coalition has been instrumental in proving that business is still done best when people come together face-to-face,” said Michael Lyons, exhibition director of AIBTM. “Since its formation, the coalition has served as a significant source of insights on the meetings industry.”
