Some of the security experts behind the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games will share their experience with event managers when Scotland hosts the first ISES Global Events Summit.

The International Special Events Society (ISES) is staging its inaugural global summit in Edinburgh in April, with senior corporate and agency event heads from organisations including NASDAQ, TBA Global, Shaw Communications and George P. Johnson in attendance.

Three days of debate will highlight some of the biggest challenges facing the event industry, with security on the agenda. Risk planning and security arrangements will be addressed by security agencies who worked on the Games two years ago. Other topics to be debated include the psychology of events, the increase in freelancers in the industry, and how to ensure events speak to audiences across different cultures.

The ISES Global Event Summit takes place on 21-23 April and includes a visit to the SSE Hydro in Glasgow and debates at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.
