The 2017 edition of the Conference and Hospitality Show will target UK association buyers for the first time.

CHS Group, organiser of the April trade show in Leeds, has set its sights on a 30 per cent increase in visitors next year, following a 48 per cent surge in numbers following its move to the First Direct Arena from former home Elland Road Stadium.

CEO Emma Cartmell revealed a host of changes to the show, which she says has widened the focus from a trade show for buyers in the north of England.

She said: “I would say it is not a northern show any more, we are attracting buyers from all over the UK. So we are now a national show. Hospitality is still at the core of what we do and we will retain the show’s personality.”

Cartmell believes the Conference and Hospitality Show’s increase in numbers will be underpinned by a new association-based audience and related education content.

There will be an expanded opportunity for London venues to exhibit while organisers plan to ensure 30 per cent of exhibitors are new. Also new for 2017 is a creative zone for planners to share event innovation.

Cartmell added: “Visitors want to see something fresh.”
