Convene 2016 shines spotlight on the best of the Baltics

More than 170 hosted buyers, 27 of them from the UK, are in Vilnius, Lithuania for fourth edition of trade show

The fourth edition of trade show Convene has opened in Vilnius, Lithuania, with a record number of participants.

More than 170 hosted buyers from 27 countries arrived in the city – 27 of them from the UK - to engage in the Baltic Sea Region Exhibition for Meetings, Events and Incentives, organised by the Vilnius Convention Bureau.

Of these, 70 will also participate in fam trips to five destinations in Lithuania, Latvia and Finland, providing an insight in a new region for many event organisers while more than 3600 scheduled appointments will take place with exhibitors from Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Finland, Denmark, Sweden and Russia.

An education programme of 28 sessions cover topics from women in leadership to organising incentive programmes, from meetings industry trends to public speaking techniques to a focus on destination knowledge hubs. The networking programme includes a welcome reception in the Radisson Blu Sky Bar with spectacular views over the UNESCO World Heritage Old Town, a gala event in the Palace of the Grand Dukes and a farewell dinner in one of a cluster of new contemporary restaurants opening in Vilnius.

Jolanta Beniuliene, exhibition director and Vilnius Convention Bureau director, said: “The Vilnius meetings industry community and those from other Baltic Sea neighbours look forward to welcoming the largest meetings industry gathering ever seen here.”
