Glasgow Science Centre (GSC) has launched a series of new corporate packages, after recording a 17 per cent spike in corporate events revenue.

The venue hopes to grow its corporate business further with the new options, which include scientific demonstrations for guests or a Dine Amongst the Star package, in which guests can enjoy scientific-themed food and drinks as they dine in the venue's Space Zone.

Major events such as the Scottish Labour Party Conference, Marketing Society Star Awards and BMW Series 7 launch helped GSC increase revenues by 17 per cent year on year for 2015/16.

Head of corporate events Judy Rae said it was the second most successful year for business events in the centre's 15-year history.

"In 2015, we made a strategic decision to work and align GSC with companies and the key economic growth sectors for Glasgow and Scotland to develop our core corporate business. By doing this, we were delighted to exceed our ambitious growth targets in the first year, which as a charitable organisation, has allowed us to invest back into GSC to further enhance our product.

“Our new off-the shelf themes are based on the feedback gathered from our customers in the last year, who indicated they wanted a quality product that could also offer value for money with authentic science experiences when hosting events with us. Now, we can offer science with style and a truly unique corporate experience for the next generation of events in Scotland.”

Other dining options released as part of the new corporate packages include Science of Whisky and Food for Thought, both of which carry a scientific theme.
