Delegates on board with cruise packages

P&O Cruises reports strong bookings 12 months after launch of corporate packages

P&O Cruises says it is on track to welcoming 12,000 delegates in 2016 through corporate event packages, with the company announcing plans to expand its fleet by two more vessels by 2019.

The company, which added two ships to its fleet in November, says forward bookings for 2016 have already exceeded the total reached in 2015.

Speaking at the Asia-Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME) in Melbourne on Tuesday, P&O director of sales Ryan Taibel said there had been a strong response to its new corporate programme, which was launched 12 months ago. About 60 per cent of delegates were on board for meetings and 40 per cent for incentives.

Clients include Aero-Care Flight Support, who hosted its annual incentive for 50 delegates on board Pacific Dawn in August 2015, for a three night cruise from Brisbane.

Taibel said: “It does seem as though there is a real appetite for incentives and our ships have resonated with incentive planners.”
