Disruption and creativity are on the menu at this year’s “ground-breaking” Accelerate conference, organised by the International Special Events Society (ISES).

The line-up for the three day conference on 12-14 May includes an opening party and the inaugural Creative Disruptors Awards at the Ministry of Sound, a day long educational and networking conference at Emirates Stadium and a venue tour of some of central London’s most famous venues.

James Morgan, chair of ISES EMEA, said: “After last year’s success, with attendees joining us from as far away as the Balkans, India, Nigeria, Turkey and the UAE and USA, we have attracted some great speakers and content that is going to deliver a ground-breaking conference experience.

“Last year’s sponsors the Emirates Stadium, Cvent, Church House, Glisser, and the IMEX Group are supporting us again this year, alongside a whole host of new sponsors including the Ministry of Sound. This is testament to the success of last year’s conference.”

The theme for this year’s conference - “Disruption Fuels Creativity” - links with the way in which new ways of thinking, new processes and technology are disrupting the event planning, delivery and presentation processes.

Jodi Collen, international president of ISES, will be in London to welcome attendees. Friday’s education conference will be opened by Professor Joe Goldblatt of Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh, the founding president of ISES 28 years ago. Nicole Yershon, director of digital innovation at advertising group Ogilvy and Mather will be highlighting the latest digital technologies disrupting live and digital marketing, while Julius Solaris from Event Manager Blog will be running a Q&A session.

ISES UK president Kevin Jackson, Deborah Armstrong of Glastonbury Festival and Sanj Surati of digital marketing agency Holition will be giving their take on technological disruption in the event space. More keynotes and activities that tie in with the conference theme including audience interactivity and new technology demos are also promised. The conference is open to members and non-members of ISES.
