Drp has been acknowledged for its work in promoting apprenticeships, after it was crowned employer of the year at a regional awards ceremony.

The full-service communications agency, which is headquartered in Hartlebury, was awarded Medium Employer of the Year and Employer of the Year at the Worcestershire Apprenticeship Awards.

Drp has spent the last three years growing its apprenticeship programme, which it uses to source and employ staff members for their head office in the Midlands, as well as offices in London and Leeds. Altogether drp employs about 180 staff, and 80 per cent of its apprentices have stayed on in employment after completing their schemes.

Drp’s CEO, Dale Parmenter, commented: "A big congratulations to all our apprentices past and present, and to all the team who mentor, train and help in their development. Apprenticeships provide a great deal of real life experience for the individual, one that cannot be achieved through the normal education route. Three of our board members started as work experience candidates at 16 years old, and over 20 years later they’re still with the company. We are proud to be investing in young apprentices now and in the future, and it is great to have been recognised at the awards."
