EVCOM is calling for industry representatives from the live events and visual communications sectors to join its board, as six new positions become available.

Candidates can stand for the positions of two agency, three partner and one freelance, with the new members to be elected at the board's next AGM in July.

Steve Garvey, EVCOM chairman, says: "We are looking for six board directors to help us seize the opportunities the changing environment offers and to ensure that we are delivering on our promise to help make our members more successful. This is a great opportunity to raise the profile of your business, broaden your connections and support the live and visual communication industry. Serving as an EVCOM board director enables you to use your professional skills to help drive the association and the industry forward. It also offers a platform to influence how our industry is shaped, developed and regulated."

EVCOM, formed from the merger of Eventia and the International Visual Communications Association in 2014, said it was seeking representatives from both the live events and visual communications side of the industry, to maintain a balance.

Those interested in standing have until 14 June to put themselves forward by completing a nomination form.

Meanwhile, the association has announced it will donate more than £1,300 to industry charity Meeting Needs, following its table draw fundraiser at the EVCOM Screen Awards in April.
