Ellis Salsby Ltd has acquired fellow conference and event management company Right Location Corporate Services in order to “provide a stronger venue finding and conference management offer" to its clients.
The deal was confirmed this week between West Midlands-based Ellis Salsby and Southampton-based Right Location. Ellis Salsby Ltd was founded in 1989, while Right Location was set up by Diane Slater in 1992. Slater is the only person not remaining at either company, but, according to Ellis Salsby, the agency's founder and managing director, she will continue on in a consultancy role.
There are no plans at the moment to merge the two companies into one location.
Salsby said: “[The acquisition] made perfect sense. There is great synergy. The two companies have built up strong reputations and have developed great expertise over many years. This is such a fast moving industry that it is vital to seize opportunities when they come along. I was looking at growing, but this is the first time I have done anything like this. It just made sense.
"Denise Bennett, Right Location's director of sales, is remaining," Salsby added, "so from a continuity viewpoint there is no change."
