A new floorspace showcasing emerging event technology is being unveiled at ibtm America 2016, in response to new research revealing 95 per cent of hosted buyers want to see more technology developments.

The new hub, TechCollective, will comprise a number of start-ups, who have been chosen based on whether their technology addresses the latest challenges and trends, and live demonstrations.

The trade show, taking place 15-17 June in Nashville, Tennessee, is also initiating an ibtm America top tech innovation award, for one start up. That winner will be selected by ibtm America attendees.

Event director Jaime McAuley said: “Technology is one of the fastest growing sectors in the meetings and events industry right now, and at ibtm events we believe that start-ups are the wave of the future. We aim to always have a spot for these companies at our events, and the TechCollective is the newest opportunity we have created for our emerging tech suppliers to not only show the industry what they can do, but gain support and exposure from us."

Some of the exhibitors in TechCollective include InitLive, an online tool and app for managing staff and volunteers at events, and Hubvents, a cloud-based 'show floor intelligence platform'.
