Some of the meetings and events industry’s most prominent figures have agreed to help shape Exclusive Hotels and Venues’s sales strategy.

The country house hotel and venues group has unveiled its new Meetings & Events Advisory Board, designed to “secure closer engagement with key influencers in the M&E community and continually evolve Exclusive’s proposition and opportunity in the M&E market”.

Among those who will meet with the group on a regular basis are Tracy Halliwell, head of business tourism at London & Partners; Fay Sharpe, Zibrant MD; Heather Lishman, ABPCO executive director; Jennifer Jenkins, MD of MCI UK; and Ben Goedegebuure, global general manager EMEA, Maritz Travel Company.

Members of the board have volunteered their time, and Exclusive says the board’s remit may evolve, as it has a ‘long term focus’.

Johanne Holman, group director of sales & marketing at Exclusive Hotels and Venues said: “The meetings and events market is incredibly important to Exclusive and this new initiative will help us to gain a greater insight and connectivity with those key decision makers and end users of the M&E space whilst allowing us to truly develop our proposition to ensure we continue to stand out.”

The board will meet regularly throughout the year with Exclusive’s senior management team in the form of focus groups, round table discussions and consultative events at Exclusive’s group of four five-star hotels and two dedicated meeting and training venues.

Holman added: “In recruiting exceptional leaders in the M&E industry to our new advisory board, we’re committed to moving even further forward in this sector and are delighted to have a unique group of experts in their field, outside of our own business, with whom to regularly consult and advise to ensure we can react quickly to the market and enhance our position as an industry leader in the sector.”

The first meeting will take place next month at Exclusive’s Pennyhill Park, in Surrey.
