FIRST is in talks with Chinese investment bank Haitong about expanding its project work for 2017, after the agency delivered a key conference for the bank.

The agency, recently rebranded from First Protocol, won the contract earlier this year to deliver Haitong's Future of Mobility Conference, which focused on the bank's aggressive European expansion plans.

The conference, held at Rosewood Hotel in London last month, featured interactive sessions and panel discussions, as well as a live showcase of the latest electric car by Tesla. It attracted 200 investors and finished with a reception and gala dinner, which was attended by Haitong Bank's chairman, Hiroki Miyazato, and minister counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in the UK, Jin Xu.

Kate Sheridan-Hayes, SVP business development & client relations at FIRST, said: "We were delighted to be awarded this contract earlier this year. We are proud of the successful delivery of this recent event and are looking forward to a continued relationship with Haitong."

It comes after FIRST's rebrand in September and it's preceding acquisition of New York-based creative and experiential agency BKA. The agency has also recently expanded its London team, taking on new project managers Katarina Poznickova and Anna Jessop.
