Increasing sales through risk will be the key theme for the International Congress & Convention Association (ICCA) UK and Ireland Chapter's second annual debate.

The education programme will include sessions from a range of speakers, including Chris Trimmer from World Obesity, motivational speaker David Pearl and Ivo Franschitz from ENITED Business Events.

The two-day event, taking place on 11-12 February at the Queen's Hotel in Leeds, also features an evening reception and dinner.

The event will feature a technology session with a panel of specialists discussing the latest technology developments and how clients use technology for events.

Pearl will give an insight into how music and the arts can motivate, enhance creativity and inspire individuals and organisations to do better business, while World Obesity spokesman Trimmer will share his ‘Healthy Venues, Healthy Meetings - Taking responsibility in the meetings industry for looking after our delegates’ initiative, looking at keeping delegates healthy and helping to change the shape of the ‘delegate diet’. Franschitz will focus on how to stop the risk of becoming irrelevant; Jane Cunningham from Best Cities Alliance will look at the value of team working to win business across continents; and Vienna Convention Bureau’s Christian Mutschlechner will highlight the risk of losing bids against your competition, discussing how the bureau works with its competition to bid as a team to win multi-year deals.

Kerrin MacPhie, ICCA UK and Ireland Chapter chair and director of conference and exhibition Sales at ACC Liverpool, said: "The programme for this year’s event is really taking shape and we are looking forward to another great debate with our chapter delegation, this time in Leeds. The annual debate is the key calendar event for our chapter members to connect, hear from expert speakers and debate key industry trends.”
