France showcased its meetings offer to international associations with an evening of high culture at the Royal Albert Hall.

The French Meeting & Convention Board invited global associations including the World Obesity Federation, the International Association for Alternative Finance and the Centre for Agriculture and Biosciences International to London for an evening of networking and the opening night of the English National Ballet’s latest production of Swan Lake. French suppliers to mingle with guests on the night included Lyon Convention Bureau, Disney Business Solutions Paris, La Cité Nantes Events Centre and Biarritz Tourism.

Blanche Savereux, manager meetings & incentives, UK & Ireland, said: “We really wanted to stay focused on international associations to give them the opportunity to inform them about our new projects and investments in the coming years.

“We have not had an opportunity to organise an event 100 per cent focused on the association market. The French suppliers were really keen and it was a real success.”

Attendees networked with 14 suppliers during a drinks reception at the venue before the performance.

London-based Loan Market Association events manager Barbara Seljak said: “I have not been hosted like this in a long time and it just goes to show the French really have great taste in running events. The networking prior to the show was well thought out, and people seemed genuinely friendly and there was no hard sell feeling you usually get when attending this sort of event. They have maximised their time to introduce themselves to us and tell us a bit more about their respective services.”
