The fresh Group has recruited from the corporate and agency world to help drive its new brand strategy.

Cheadle-based fresh has appointed Asda's ex-head of brand strategy Steph James as senior account director, alongside former Ashfield Meetings and Events business and account director Sarah-Jane Johnston.

The full-service creative events agency unveiled a new brand strategy in December and reported a £14 million turnover for 2015. The last available accounts for the company, ending 30 September 2014, reveal a £1.3m profit on £15m turnover.

MD Patrick Howells said: "We are delighted to welcome Steph and Sarah-Jane to the fresh family. As part of our on-going vision to provide the best possible creative events service to our clients we are always on the lookout for expertise such as that brought to us by Steph and Sarah-Jane.”

The strategic plan is designed to bring fresh closer to its clients, and will make use of the new additions' expertise in both events and client understanding. Howells added: "Steph brings with her some amazing retail experience and crucially a first-person understanding of a client's point of view. Crucially for us, Sarah-Jane has B2B and B2C experience working in agencies, public sector and also venue side delivering a wide variety of events in the UK, Europe and overseas. What Sarah-Jane doesn’t know about the world of events is probably not worth knowing.”
