GES is looking to raise the bar with a major new research project on sustainability. The company is an official research partner for the Sustainable Events Summit (SES), which aims to promote the exchange of innovative ideas in sustainability.

GES is surveying 100 event professionals at top global brands to gain greater insight into how sustainability informs both the planning and delivery of live events. The research will be unveiled at SES on Monday 21 November in central London.

Christine Martin, GES’ EMEA marketing director, said: “We take our responsibility to sustainability seriously and welcome this opportunity to stimulate debate and discussion across the event community. The industry has come a long way but there’s more to do. I’m confident this evidence-based approach will help us raise the bar further. ”

GES was the first official services provider to achieve the internationally recognised ISO20121 accreditation and has recently appointed Tom Revell as its first sustainability manager.

SES founding partner and Smyle MD Rick Stainton said: “We are absolutely delighted that GES is supporting the summit again this year and we would like to thank them for their commitment. We are excited about the new research-led direction for SES and are looking forward to unveiling our findings at the summit.”
